Blinded and shell-shocked, Captain Alex Calvert recuperates in his sick bed, re-enacting past battles on a chess board. A visit from an old friend, Brock, and his Australian fiance, Pam, uncovers some old wounds. As Brock strips away the bandages to reveal the Captain's dark secret, Pam challenges Alex to a revealing game of chess. It looks like the real war is about to begin: The age old battle of the sexes.

Captain Calvert's Bedroom War was recorded in black and white in 1998 on video 8 film and then edited on a VHS video recorder by cameraman, director and producer, Tom Corrix.

A few copies of the film were distributed to the cast and crew. One of these scarce VHS tapes was transferred to a miniDV, imported into an iMac and then edited by Paul Vought in February 2004.
