The scenes featuring Andreea Mancas as Fran were filmed in Iasi, Romania in August 2009. The rest of the film was shot in the UK in October 2009.

 

The flat where The Ceres Affair was recorded has also doubled as the emergency UNIT HQ in the Dr Who fan film Flight of the Daleks.

 

The prop known as "The Blue Beam Machine" which has appeared in the SHP films Bikini Zombies From the Moon and Kiss of Aquarius also makes an appearance in The Ceres Affair.
